How We Collect Personal Information
IER Trading Pty Ltd will generally collect your personal information directly from you in the course of you participating in our research and/or surveys. However, we may also from time to time collect personal information about you from third parties, such as when a client provides us with a list of sample data to use in conducting our research. Specifically, data collection occurs through the following channels
+ Direct face-to-face interviewing
+ Through an email invitation to a database that has either:
+ Been sourced from a client contact list
+ Been sourced from a ticketing agency (with all necessary approvals in place)
+ Been sourced from recruitment of participants in the field
+ Through social media or other passive online channels
+ Via third-party sources, such as publicly available data or data provided by research collaborators, with appropriate consent.
Purpose of Collecting Personal Information
We collect personal information for purposes including but not limited to:
+ Undertaking research with the aim of delivering insights to our clients
+ Communicating with participants about their involvement in our studies.
+ Conducting prize draws or games of chance for the purpose of incentivising participation in the research (where permission has been sought)
+ Ensuring research integrity and compliance with ethical standards.
+ Reporting anonymized and aggregated findings to stakeholders.
You can unsubscribe at any time – all you need to do is select ‘Unsubscribe’ on the eDM (electronic direct mail) that you receive.
Disclosure of Personal Information
From time to time, we may disclose personal information to our clients.
+ Research collaborators or partners, subject to confidentiality agreements.

+ Service providers (such as our survey platform provider Qualtrics) that assist in data processing, hosting, or analysis.
We will not disclose personal information to overseas entities without ensuring that the recipient complies with the Australian Privacy Principles or a similar legal framework. IER Trading Pty Ltd does not sell personal information. IER Trading Pty Ltd will only disclose personal information if this is required by law or permitted under the Privacy Act
Storage and Security
We are committed to protecting personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, modification, or disclosure. Measures include:
+ Data encryption and secure storage systems utilised by our hosting partner Qualtrics.
+ Access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel only.
+ Regular audits and staff training on data privacy practices.
+ Deletion (two-stage) of non-essential PII data where it is no longer required (generally once any incentive draw has occurred)
Anonymity and Pseudonymity
Where possible and appropriate, individuals may participate in our research without providing some or all of the PII data. However, some research activities may require identifiable information and, in those cases, IER Trading Pty Ltd will seek to collect that data under the regulatory framework set in place by the Privacy Act and APP.
