Madelynne Hastings

Maddy is a Consultant at IER, managing and delivering evaluations of behavioural, attitudinal, economic, and social impacts across the leisure and business events sectors. She collaborates with the team at IER, including survey developers and data analysts, to provide comprehensive evaluation reports for major clients.

Maddy commenced her career as an event organiser in the non-profit sector, and over the past six years has worked across two state tourism organisations in the areas of government relations, major and regional event funding and bidding for international business events.  She brings this experience to assist clients in understanding their research goals and outcomes.

Surrounded by events for as long as she can remember, Maddy brings a genuine passion to the role. She’s drawn to the energy, logistics, and the broader social and economic benefits that events can deliver. This drives her commitment to supporting event organisers, tourism bodies, and governments in recognising the important role event tourism plays in Australia’s visitor economy.

Maddy holds a Bachelor of Business from the Queensland University of Technology majoring in public relations.
