Economic Impact Study

The Players Series, titled as the Webex Players Series for sponsorship reasons, is a series of professional golf tournaments played in Australia with men and women competing in the same field, from scaled tees and for the same prize purse. The series began in 2021. The tournaments are played as part of both the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia and WPGA Tour of Australasia schedules.

The South Australian event, hosted by Greg Blewett, was first held at Willunga Golf Course in October 2023 with a finish that came down to the 72nd hole, and fantastic feedback from everyone involved.

The PGA of Australia engaged IER to undertake an economic impact study for this event. The study aims to determine the impact both on the local region (City of Onkaparinga) as well as for the State of South Australia. As part of this, IER conducts face to face interviewing at the event which then feeds the economic modelling and outcomes.
